Spring has sprung and here's the round up of what's happening on the fashion radar (if you care to participate that is!) And remember - it's easy to incorporate a trend in a small way into your wardrobe - you will look modern, fresh and very in-the-know!
French women are always sure to buy something in "the color of the season" whether it be new shoes, a new handbag, or a small pin, or silk scarf. Tres chic.
1. Color blocking - yes, it's been happening for a season or two now but color blocking (that is, wearing 2 or more colors - either contrasting or analogous - in the same outfit in bold saturated chunks) is fresh looking and here to stay.
Risk Taker? Try mixing 3 bold hues in the same color family but different shades. Done right, it's really pretty.
2. Prints - futuristic, kaleidoscopic, preppy paisleys - take your pick!
Risk Taker? The trick to wearing two different prints at the same time is making sure they are both the same color family and not too far off scale from one another. Done!
3. Leather. Leather for spring you ask? Why not? After all, it feels like fall some days (at least here on the East Coast) To incorporate leather in a small dose pin a small leather flower to your dress or jacket or wear a thin leather headband!
4. Pastel and neon colors. Color, color, color! Whether preppy pastels are your thing or punchy neons, they are on everything this season.
Risk Taker? Try pairing pastels with neons in the same color, paired with neutrals it's surprisingly pretty.
5. The 60s, the 70s and - the 20s. Your choice - art deco, mod or bohemian, all are trending this season, especially when it comes to dresses.
6. Sportswear. Think mesh, drawstrings, anorak jackets, and track pants. Try a mesh sweater or a chic anorak to keep on the classic side of this trend.
Risk Taker? If you work out in it (and it doesn't look beat up, and it's CLEAN!) try trotting it out with something dressy. Well fitting track pants look especially fresh with black heels and a sexy Tshirt, jacket or no jacket (think Gwen Stefani in the late 90s)
