Our Grandmother's Fashion Rules No Longer Apply

Old Rule: Don't Wear White After Labor Day
New Rule: Wear white whenever you please! ...Except to a wedding if you are not the bride. No, no!
It's called winter white -- and it's very chic. Exhibit A:

Old Rule: Wear flesh-colored stocking in winter on bare legs. 
New Rule: No one should suffer the flesh-colored tight look unless they are royalty (and even then, Kate Middleton avoids it whenever possible)
It is much chicer (and younger) to wear colored, grey, brown, or black opaque tights. It does not matter your age - you CAN wear black opaque tights.

Old Rule: Don't Wear Navy with Black
New Rule: Pair navy with black anytime! It looks modern and pretty. Just makes sure it's obvious that you're pairing the two on purpose and not by accident.
